Four long-standing races form the focus of this work: the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race (1905), the Newport Bermuda Race (1906), the Marion Bermuda Race (1977), and Block Island Race Week (1965). Run biennially and prepared for across the intervening years, they reflect a persistent corinthian tradition.
With thanks to the Boston Yacht Club, the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, the Cruising Club of America, the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, the Beverly Yacht Club, and the Storm Trysail Club.
Each September, delegations from nearly every country converge on a narrow section of Manhattan during the opening week of the United Nations General Assembly. For several days, the streets surrounding the United Nations become a temporary stage for diplomacy, press, security, and power.
Photographed since 2023.
Photographs made in New York since 2023. The work follows the unstable choreography of public life in the city: commerce, spectacle, loneliness, wealth, performance, exhaustion, and fleeting moments of intimacy unfolding continuously on its streets.
